A brief look at the history of
Ghazvin Glass Company (Public):
GGC was first established on October 1965 with the initial capital of around 120
million Rials and annual production capacity of 13,000 tons of flat glass
with vertical Forcault technology .
In 1968 engineering and technical agreements were made with N.S.G (Nippon
Sheet Glass) of Japan to build a furnace with annual capacity of 18,000 tons
of figured glass with roll out technology . Subsequently , three other
furnaces with Colburn technology were designed and built by Nippon Sheet
Glass during the period of 1968 to 1979 .
Today , Ghazvin Glass Company with over 35 years of experience , an
estimated value of around 84 billion Rials and a member of the Tehran Stock
Exchange Association is the leading and pioneering company in production ,
distribution and sales of sheet glass in Iran .
The company’s four furnaces have the following capacities and production

GGC’s production facilities are located in the suburbs of city of Ghazvin ,
140 km north west of Tehran which occupies 260,000 square meter Of land and
employs 1100 people .
The market share of GGC is about 42% such that , one in every two buildings
in Iran contains glass manufactured by GGC .
Annual sales value of Ghazvin Glass in the year 2001 exceeded 32 million US
Dollars.
Since the year 1970 , GGC is a member of the Tehran Stock Exchange
Association .
GGC owns a raw material production company named FARS-JIN , which provides
the silica powder needed for the production of Glass .
GGC also owns dolomite rock mine , which supplies the required dolomite
rock for the crushing line .
Furthermore GGC is the 45% owner of ESTEKHRAJ company . This company produces
silica powder for the glass industry and has an annual capacity of 200,000
tons . GGC has 2 directors in the ESTEKHRAJ board of directors .
